Yesterday, Canada passed a law that makes it illegal to use the wrong pronouns on people that are transgender. The new Bill was passed by the Senate, and it enshrines “gender identity” and “gender expression” into the Canadian Human Rights Code and Criminal Code.
In other words, if someone looks like a man but identifies as a woman, you could possibly go to jail for referring to the man as “he” or “him”. I almost want to laugh as I type this, but there is nothing remotely funny about this. Canada is by and large a neo-liberal country, and this new law is a testament to the high levels of insanity that is deeply rooted in the minds of many liberals.
Of course, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau rejoiced at the passage of the bill. “Great news,” he said. “Bill C-16 has passed the Senate – making it illegal to discriminate based on gender identity or expression. #LoveisLove.”
It is sad that the prime minister is saying “love is love” in reference to a serious mental illness. Transgenderism is quickly becoming an epidemic, and like we reported yesterday, some transgender parents are forcefully trying to pass the curse unto their children.
Justin Trudeau was not the only high-level Canadian that was glad about the passage of the bill. The attorney general, Jody Wilson-Raybould said he was “proud that Bill C-16 has passed in the Senate.” He also said that as a result of the new law, “all Canadians should feel #FreeToBeMe.”
Canada has now exalted political correctness above free speech. It is absurd that I could go to jail in Canada because I refuse to call a man a woman. While people are free to identify as whatever they want, it is utterly ridiculous that the government would force everyone else to use the particular pronouns the transgender person demands.
We can only hope that this madness stays out of the United States. And this is exactly why we must limit the number of liberals in our government. Everyone knows that when liberals govern, stupidity often follows.
